...The U.S. Justice Department and the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro filed separate lawsuits this week, arguing that Rutherford County officials violated federal laws when they denied requests for a final inspection and certificate of occupancy for the mosque.
The center argued that it was being unconstitutionally blocked "merely because local anti-Islamic protests have made the mosque controversial."
Justice Department officials coordinated the timing of their lawsuit with the local case because they thought there would be "irreparable harm" if the mosque were not allowed to open for Ramadan, spokesman Mitchell Rivard said.
Plans for the mosque have resulted in threats to the center and a lawsuit that led to a county judge's order shutting down the project in June. County officials had cited that order when they denied requests for the final inspection.

Listening to Fox this morning, they had on the guy who was hired (and initially approved of the Mosque) to do a documentary on this but once he investigated Islam, was against it (Eric Allen Bell). Regarding the first paragraph, he said this hearing was 'SECRET.' To quote Mr. Bell (because I have a DVR and can play back and write down what he said)...
This past Wednesday at 3:30 there was an EMERGENCY court hearing at the federal level - a secret hearing. There were TWO lawsuits filed simultaneously - one was on behalf of the Egyptian cleric the other by the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ADVOCATING FOR THE ISLAMIC CENTER OF Murfreesboro, TN.
BOTH lawsuits were heard on the same day, ruled upon the same day and can be summarized as follows: "NOT TO ALLOW THE ISLAMIC CENTER OF MURFREESBORO TO VIOLATE OUR LAWS IS A VIOLATION OF THEIR RELIGIOUS FREEDOM." ()
The residents were circumvented. The attorney's representing the concerned citizens were NOT INFORMED. It would appear that Eric Holder's Department of Justice was lobbying on behalf of Islam.
There is an estimated 1000 Muslims who will attend this mosque of 53K s/f. They all have an existing facility that already accommodates them.
The issue here is SPECIAL, PREFERENTIAL TREATMENT FOR MUSLIMS SO THAT ISLAM TRUMPS AMERICAN LAW.
This backroom deal is just sickening and sad.
On another note (grab your tinfoil)...you know those FEMA camps we've all been talking about....what if these mosques are being built for the overflow?
