Holder Reveals Aggressive Gun Control: Response to Ft. Hood

Postby jessicas0778 » Fri Nov 20, 2009 12:48 pm

WASHINGTON, Nov. 19 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Before the Senate Judiciary Committee November 18th, 2009, Attorney General Eric Holder revealed a stunningly broad and aggressive anti-gun agenda.

"The President of the United States asked that politicians not use the Ft. Hood attack to engage in 'political theater.' It appears those committed to attacking gun owners and the Second Amendment simply can't help themselves and are engaged in blaming guns and gun owners on the heels of this terrorist attack. Sadly it looks like 'politics as usual,'" said LEAA's spokesperson, Ted Deeds.

After explaining and defending his decision to give enemy combatants constitutional protections and the right to public trial in civilian courts, Attorney General Holder revealed his support for a national gun owner registration scheme and authorizing the government to ban firearm possession for any person by merely adding that person's name to the terror watch list.

Drawing reasonable conclusions from what Holder publicly said, we now know:

   * Holder wants a national, permanent gun registration system administered by law enforcement. A registration of honest citizens that have cleared the federal background check for gun purchases with those records permanently retained by and shared among law enforcement.
   * Holder wants new federal authority to prohibit any person on the federal watch list (reported to be 400,000 names) from buying guns and supports confiscating guns from those on the list who possess them.

Transcribing General Holder: "The position of the Administration is that there should be a basis for law enforcement to share information about gun purchases." "... [It's not] inconsistent to allow law enforcement agencies to share that kind of information, for that information to be retained and then to be shared by law enforcement." "It seems incongruous to me that we would bar certain people from flying on airplanes because they are on the terrorist watch list and yet we would still allow them to posses weapons." {Emphasis added}

LEAA's Executive Director Jim Fotis said, "Those behind the badge don't believe more restrictions on honest gun owners is a reasonable, practical or constitutional response to acts of terrorism. As a retired officer, I know that America's men and women in blue want to fight terrorism, to stop terrorists; not waste time keeping records on innocent gun owners!"

Ughhhh!  Is there but one person in this administration who isn't bad news.  I'm not surprised with Holder but I am, I guess , still in shock over the constant whammies coming at us on a regular basis.  I knew it was just a matter of time before they took away my right to defend myself.  As Bible toters, we're surely all on some sort of watch list.  I live in a quiet town outside of a major city.  I lead a crime patrol group in my neighborhood to deal mainly with petty thefts and vandalism by teens now and then.  The other night while out in the town center(consisting of about 3-4 blocks) a masked gunman shot down two people at 7 at night 1/2 a block from me.  I have a feeling he won't be on the watch list and if so, will likely find a way to hide his weapons while the innocent people are disarmed.  Sad this crime occurred in my town and yet it is all becoming the norm.  Things do seem to be speeding up--prophecy seemingly unraveling at a fast rate.  Love is growing colder and colder.  I pray for all of you on this site and your families and friends.  May the Holy Spirit guide us in wisdom and discernment.  Peace.

I think this government looks for ANY excuse to ban guns, ban freedom of speech, ban TALK RADIO, etc...   WHATEVER...     so that they can fulfill this fantasy they have of taking over America. They are close to doing this too, but they are doing it by spending too much, restricting our freedoms, punishing us who do not follow the line. It's the same way Hitler took Germany!

Hitler was surrounded by petty bureaucrats who made policies to further the 3rd Reich. Obama also has his own petty bureaucrats like Holder doing the same thing!

Please Jesus come soon! :prayer:

It won't be like before, in years past in other countries.  Sure there will be some cowards who will buckle under, but no way will the current regime find an easy task in disarming this the most peacefully armed citizenry in the world.  They would surely invoke CW2, the haves and the have-nots making up the sides.  This is the most educated and well-trained owner population ever about the pursuits of a corrupt governing regime.

They turn a blind eye to reality in pursuit of an imaginary enemy who is no enemy at all.  The real enemies make the entire rest of the citizenry a scapegoat to their delight.

Excellent points.  I think for now, it would be quite a fight that they would not win...but years from now--who knows.  I like your last two lines..so true.

Well Moses said it best, ok Charlton Heston actually said, "From my cold dead hands." An unarmed man is a subject, an armed one is a citizen. I am still a citizen and plan to remain one till my last breath. Here are few thoughts from Clint Smith the director of Thunder Ranch.

"The two most important rules in a gunfight are: Always cheat and Always win."

"Don't forget, incoming fire has the right of way."

"Make your attacker advance through a wall of bullets. I may get killed with my own gun, but he's gonna have to beat me to death with it, cause it's going to be empty."

"If you're not shootin', you should be loadin'. If you're not loadin, you should be movin', if you're not movin', someone's gonna Cut your head off and put it on a stick."

"If you carry a gun, people will call you paranoid. That's ridiculous... If I have a gun, what in the heck do I have to be paranoid for."

"Don't shoot fast, shoot good."

"You can say 'stop' or 'alto' or use any other word you think will work but I've found that a large bore muzzle pointed at someone's head is pretty much the universal language."

"You have the rest of your life to solve your problems. How long you live depends on how well you do it."

"You cannot save the planet. You may be able to save yourself and your family."

"You have the rest of your life to solve your problems. How long you live depends on how well you do it."

"You cannot save the planet. You may be able to save yourself and your family."

"Thunder Ranch will be here as long as you'll have us or until someone makes us go away and either way it will be exciting."

More Excellent Gun Wisdom.......The purpose of fighting is to Win!

There is no possible victory in defense. The sword is more important than the shield, and skill is more important than either.

The final weapon is the brain. All else is supplemental.

Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, He'll just kill you.

If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.

I carry a gun cause a cop is too heavy.

When seconds count, the cops are just minutes away.

A reporter did a human-interest piece on the Texas Rangers. The reporter recognized the Colt Model 1911 the Ranger was carrying and
asked him 'Why do you carry a 45?' The Ranger responded, 'Because they don't make a 46.'

An armed man will kill an unarmed man with monotonous regularity.

The old sheriff was attending an awards dinner when a lady commented on his wearing his sidearm. 'Sheriff, I see you have your pistol. Are you expecting trouble?' 'No ma'am. If I were expecting trouble, I would have brought my rifle.'

'The true Soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because He loves what is behind him.'

A people that values its privileges above its principles will soon lose both.

'Those who hammer their guns into plows will plow for those who do not.'   ~ Thomas Jefferson

"A general dissolution of principles and manners will more surely overthrow the liberties of America than the whole force of the common enemy." --Samuel Adams
ImageAnd it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: And as they were afraid, and bowed down [their] faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.

Some how I knew you would. I was going to just PM it to you but then decided to share it with everyone.

My favorite is the one about the soldier. I have never enjoyed fighting, in fact I hate it. But, I have always known the righteous fight was a necessity of life and the things that are behind me are worth every drop of sweat and blood.
