I have a few pics in the picture folder in windows.  Today I wanted to use one of them here on the board, but
could not figure out how to do that.  Specifically I wanted to use a whistling smiley, clicked on it, but could ot get it to transfer.     What did I do wrong?  Must I first save it to photobucket?

No need for photobucket--ETRT has file storage available.

1.  Make sure popups are allowed for http://www.endtimesroundtable.com (some browsers have popup blockers.  These should be turned off for ETRT.)

2.  While creating a post, look under the column of smilies.  Find and click "File Upload".

Image

3.  A popup window will appear.

Image

Click on the "Browse" button.

Image

This will show you the directories on your computer.  Use this to find the picture you want to use.

Image

Image

4.  Type in the security code that is shown in the box provided on the popup.

Image

5.  Click "Submit" on the popup.

Image

6.  The popup will change, showing a filename found on the ETRT server.  This is the URL for your picture.  Copy and paste it into the BBCode, such as the IMG tags for a picture, or the MP3 tags for a song, etc.

Image

7.  When you preview or post your message, you should see your uploaded picture.

Image

8.  (Optional)  If this is a picture you will use lots of times, you can click the "My Shortcuts" link (found under the "File Upload" link, and save it in one of your personal slots.  To use a shortcut, just click the link, and click the button next to the slot you want to use, then click "Insert" to place it in your post.

I was just happy to find a reason to use that dog GIF I found on the web.  That is just such a cute clip--I've been saving it for a special use.  And this was it!

Thank you again Stu.  Maybe one day I will get this all sorted out.
As you know I am not technically inclined, and losing XP and having to learn 7 is a pain for me, but there it is.
