ETRT Bible Search

Postby Just A Clay Pot » Thu Nov 12, 2009 1:03 pm

At the end of the forum listing, you may have noticed a new section, "ETRT Bible Search."

This is a full-featured Bible search and display tool.  It has KJV, the Textus Receptus Greek, Tyndale and many foreign language versions, too.  More will be added over the near future (Lord willing.)  But, we will not be including any versions that are licensed/copyrighted.

When you enter either a direct Scripture in the top box (like "Rom 7", or "1 John 1:2-4") and hit "Enter" or click on it's "Submit" button, a new page will open showing the requested passage.  It will also have all the extra features, such as more advanced search tools, the option to have a total of 4 parallel versions of your passage, etc.

Likewise, you can enter a word or words in the bottom box, hit "Enter" or click it's "Submit", and all passages that have those words will be displayed (up to 1000 matches.)

On the new search page, there are buttons for random verses or random chapters, for those times you are hungry for some meat, but just can't decide what you want to chew on.   :ahaha:

Needless to say, this new block is available to both members and unregistered guests.  Any opportunity to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ is a good opportunity.

Enjoy!

Same here.  I'd have BLB open for reference.  This should do the same basic things, but without all the extra little blocks and stuff getting in the way.

It will be right above the "Who Is Online" listing towards the bottom of the page.

If it doesn't appear, you may have to close out your browser completely and reopen it.

If that doesn't work, try hitting the CTRL + F5 keys together a few times.  That would mean that the earlier version of the web page is sorta stuck in your browser's cache.  Hitting control-function five should force your browser to call out for the new page.  Once it is in your cache, it will stay there.

:update:
Just added "World English Bible (WEB)" to the list of Bibles available.

The WEB is a modern English translation based on the American Standard Version of 1901, the Greek Majority Text, and the Hebrew Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia.  It is in the public domain, and is therefore free to use and copy.  Although it is still considered to be in "draft" form, it is a good version for reading when you are wanting a common language translation.  The World English Bible follows the American Standard Version's decision to transliterate the Tetragrammaton, but updates "Jehovah" to be "Yahweh".

Is it just me or does it feel like Christmas already. Stu, are you really just one of Santa's elves?
ImageAnd it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: And as they were afraid, and bowed down [their] faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.

Not I.  I'm just the black sheep of God's children.  But, I can fling a line of computer code here and there now and then.

Now you have to come up with something more flashy. See in my family we have no black sheep. We do have plaid sheep, tide die sheep, and me the paisley print sheep. If you are going to do it do it really big. :ahaha:
