I don't know about the desert rat but the swamp rat is not joshin you on this one. Of all the talents my Dad passed down to me both learned and natural, the one I would have most loved to have was his voice. Have you ever hear nails on a blackboard that were off key. That would be me trying to sing.

As I have said in the past, I do have musical talent across a wide variety of instruments but, nothing I do of my own ability. The only instruments I can play are a turntable, AM/FM radio, tape deck, cassette tape, even the old 8-track tape, and now the newer instruments of MP3 player, CD, and iPod but that is about it. Can't sing a lick. Couldn't keep rhythm on a set of drums if my life depended on it.

I thought it was every young man's dream to be in a band, we get them together and they act like don't really want to do it.... :idunno:
You'd think they'd be a bit more grateful that we women have this kind of confidence in their abilities....I've noticed Hal hasn't said a word about it on here...tho he did look at me and smirk and say, ' The spoons, huh'.... :roflmbo:  :roflmbo:
TACT = THE ABILITY TO STEP ON SOMEONE'S TOES WITHOUT MESSING UP THE SHINE ON THEIR SHOES
I know the definition; doesn't mean I follow it..lol

I rarely do cammo and never do tye die. To clichesqe for my taste. I am more of a pony tail, truckers, hat, bib overalls, red plaid shirt and combat boots kind of guy. Give me a good old pickum truck or a tractor and I are in hog heaven. Just don't be surprised when you see me out in the field with an easel some paint, doing landscapes or down by the river pulling rocks to polish and turn into hippy jewelery or even down at the local cafe with my bag of yarn and my crochet needle wearing my half glasses and going to town making a hippy version chullo hat or maybe a real hippish rasta hat which Callie calls slouch hats. You just never know where I will be found or what I are up to. If I gots electricity, it could be I be making baby blankets as well. Mostly that is winter stuff done inside where it is warm. I don't do cold no mo.  :ahaha:

But thanks for the invite. Don't look like now it will be happening. I gots blown out of the water for some vacation time I was hoping to get in July. That is a real bummer because I was really hoping to get down to Pasadena and get a personalized tour of JPL. Oh well some day I will be able to go anytime of the year I choose. I will choose probably around New Years so I can go watch the Rose Bowl Parade. Man what they do with flowers is out of this world crazy and I like it.

Okay, I'm obviously late to the party here, and don't have time to read all 10 pages but in the first post Stu said...

If a person gets a total of -100 thumbs, they are automatically banned by the forum.

Is that just for thumbs down?  Cause if it's a total of 100 thumbs (up or down) we could unintentionally kick someone off the forum with 100 thumbs up!  :wow:

Down thumbs only.  And, down thumbs can be cancelled by up thumbs.

In theory, a person could, if they really hated something being posted, could put enough down thumbs on a person to get them banned in about a week (plus or minus).  But, if 10 people felt the same, they could do the same in less than a day.

The "check and balance" to that is that thumbs are logged--but only I can see them.  The log would let me see what thread(s) are driving people to thumb someone out of the board.  If there were others in agreement, that would carry more weight.  If it was one person trying to do a vendetta-type thing, it would likely lead to that person going out the door well before they hit 100 down thumbs.

It gives the membership a more direct control over the content of the board.  If enough down thumbs happen inside a single thread, that thread will likely get closed and/or removed.

Just another way to help keep the Round Table round.
